Hello all, I'm a lvl 34 Draenaei shaman, and I rently got Windfury weapon and
the totem. I have a friend who is a 70 shaman and was listing the virtues of WF to me. But now that I've used it some, I'm not extly impressed. At first I was was using a 2h Axe, and it seemed as though Flurry was pr'ing a lot more than WF, even though WF has a 20% pr rate
and myrit rating is 12ish. I swihed to meshield, and WF definitely pr'd more, though not in anything that seems to justify its apparent status as best of theombat totems. So on to my questions, bause I'm starting to suspt I'm missing something. First off, does the Windfury weapon buff stk with the totem? And if not, whh one takes predee? Also, if the Windfuries don't stk, will the totem stk with say, Rkbiter? Just some questions I have as I try to figure out my shaman existee. Thanks for listening. :D -Jjn
No weapon buffs stk with the totem, and things like sharpening stones and rogue poisons don't stk either. The buff already on a person's weapon has predee over the totem. (And it's a good thing, too; your Windfury Weapon is two bonus attks, Windfury Totem only one.) The reason Flurry seems to be prcing more than Windfury is that Windfury
attksan pr Flurries, but Windfury has a hidden timer built-in to limit how often Windfury prs. So it's not tually 20%, overall. As for whh weapon buff is best, Windfury _is_ the best overall DPS if you're enhaement. Flametongue and Frostbrand have spell damageoeffients, so they're preferable if you're elemental. For soloing, espially with a two-hander, I prefer Rkbiter'sonsistey over the feast-or-famine nature of Windfury.
